Dams and Waterfalls in Tirupur

The Panchalinga Waterfalls is extremely famous in Tirupur. The scenic waterfall is located 3km from the Thirumoorthy Temple in Tirupur, which is just 18km from Udumalaipettai. The Panchalinga Waterfall is an amazing ground for meditation and sight seeing. The place is surrounded by dams and temples. Tourists who wish to rejuvenate new life into their holiday, should stop by the enthralling waterfall. The waterfall is situated on the high way from Palani. The Amaravathi Dam is located in Udumalpet, Tirupur District. It is extremely close to wildlife sanctuaries like the Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary. The place was built to control floods and to serve irrigation. The Dam was officially opened by K. Kamaraj during late 1950s. During early 2003, more than 40% of Tirupur's electricity was produced by the Amaravathi Dam. Tourists tend to admire the Dam for its scenic beauty. It has a well laid park and adventurous steps to delight the "brave hearts". As you view across the dam, you will find the plains of Palni and Anaimalai.

This is another dam located in Udumalpet, Tirupur District. The Dam is treated as a famous tourist destination in Tirupur. The Dam is busy at all times of the year. It has an excellent boat safari. Couples consider the Thirumoorthy Dam as a perfect weekend getaway. The Dam lies on the Coimbatore-Palani Highway. As suggested by its name, the Dam is present in the Thirumoorthy Hills.
