Additionally, this has made Tirupur a safe and clean city.
Solar Energy in TirupurThe Solar Energy Association is Tirupur works hard to meet up with the district's energy needs. It has established Solar Energy parks throughout the city to produce 1000 MW of energy every year. The Association is run by many investors, EPC contractors and textile manufacturers. The association is lead by Mr. Raju V R Palanisamy. The city's solar unit allows textile factories and other establishments, with a superfluous demand for energy, to register with them. The registrants would be allowed to use 120KW of energy every day from the Tirupur Solar Energy Park. Very recently, India's first MW scale PV-Diesel Hybrid Solar power plant was released in Tirupur. To be more precise, this is the second of its kind in the world! The one mega watt Solar plant on the roof of Alpine Knits (India) Private Limited produces 65% of the factory's energy needs.
