The Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary is at an altitude of 1400 meters in the Western Ghats. The total area of the park is 958 sq.km. There are different kinds of wild animals here such as tiger, panther, elephants, gaur, sloth bear, wild bear, wild dog, deer, porcupine, flying squirrel, jackal, civet cat, etc. There are a few bird species also like green pigeon, spotted dove, black headed oriole, racket-tailed Drongo, re-whiskered Bulbul etc. The hills with green grass, the river streams of Chinnar, the teak forests and the waterfalls are the best examples of awe-inspiring scenic beauty.

Tirumurugan Poondi, a village near Tirupur is famous for stone sculpture. Many families here are engaged in this art for more than three centuries. They mainly make the statues of Hindu gods and goddesses. The excavated coins, various old pottery items, etc. from various parts of Tirupur confirm that it was an ancient town. In the ancient Chola stone carvings the Noyyal River is mentioned as Kanchi Maanadhi.

    recently me and my family visited to tiruppur.nice place to visit.every one should visit.during our trip we visited lot of places,avinashi temple is one of them. Avinashi is a small town situated near Tirupur in Tamil Nadu. The town is famous for the Shiva temple constructed by Sundarapandiya is closely associated with the great Saiva saint Sundaramoorthy Nayanar. Avinashi is located on the arterial road connecting the major industrial & textile cities of Erode and Coimbatore. The car festival is the most exciting of the festivals in this temple.You can hire a taxi from tiruppur railway station to avinashi temple
